Completing a stalled project on time for a growing family

Transforming a challenging scenario into a triumph

We were called to Oval’s SW8 to rescue a faltered project, in which a previous contractor had started work but vanished midway through, leaving behind subpar foundations. With the clients expecting a new addition to their family soon, the urgency of the project was clear.

We assessed the situation and, after an inspector’s review, decided it was necessary to redo the foundations. Despite the setback, we not only brought the project back on track but managed to complete it a month earlier than the projected four-month timeline.

The transformation was comprehensive, with a lower ground floor extension introducing much-needed space to the side and rear. The extension connected seamlessly to the main home via a freshly crafted staircase, while the existing ground floor was given a holistic refurbishment to unify the home's design throughout. Beyond aesthetics, we also undertook crucial plumbing and electrical upgrades, ensuring both safety and functionality.

Key to this project's success was a focus on amplifying natural light. New internal and external glazing bathed living areas in sunlight. A trio of skylights – one with electronic opening for ventilation – added to the ambiance. In the kitchen we embraced a rustic vibe with brick slips, while outside, a revamped garden patio and fresh external rendering polished the property's appearance.

We’re delighted to report that the family was able to move into their new home a month earlier than expected, giving them time to settle in before the arrival of their newborn without further stress.
